The Naveran family legacy began in 1901. Today the Estate has 110 hectares (272 acres) of vines in the town of Torrelavit located in the Alt(high) Penedès sub-region. Founder, Pablo Perellada, was so instrumental in the region’s recovery from the phylloxera epidemic, that the grape he replanted, Montonec, was renamed Perellada in his honour. Today it is overseen by Michel Gillieron Parellada de Naveran, a graduate in Enology from the École d'Ingénieurs de Changins (Switzerland). Determined to promote a project rooted in the land of his ancestors, he insists upon the preservation of the artisanal and family character that his vineyards and cellars always had. This is a mineral-driven wine, savoury, with loads of lip-smacking acid. It is perfect with charcuterie and anti pasti and many foods, as it finishes very clean. Still, the complexity and uniqueness of the flavour profiles make this an oddly memorable wine, particularly so for sparkling.
